Ribbon cutting for the new Koch Scouting Center, located at 3247 N. Oliver (west of Rainbows United) will be held on Thursday, October 17th at 4:00 p.m. The new Council Service Center supports more than 13,000 Scouts and their families and volunteers throughout the 30 counties served by the Quivira Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Brad Bechtel, Council President of the Quivira Council shared, “We’re excited to see this final component of our “Delivering the Promise” Capital Campaign come to fruition. Through the support of countless donors, we’ve made significant improvements and upgrades at both of our camps which have resulted in an increase in program and attendance. The new Council Service Center has room for trainings and meetings, is easily accessible with ample parking and the expanded Scout Shop offers a wide variety of equipment, training materials and program items”.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will include Scouts and leaders of the Quivira Council and comments from representatives of Koch Industries, Schafer Johnson Cox and Frey and Dondlinger and Sons Construction as well as City of Wichita Councilman James Clendenin.
